Job Overview

Solvarus Consulting is a leading provider of digital engineering solutions to the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense. We are seeking a highly skilled Model Based Systems Engineer to join our team of experienced engineers in the development and institutionalization of a Digital Engineering environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to architect and design Space and Ground solutions using advanced Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes and techniques. This will involve working with SIGINT and GEOINT subject matter experts to craft MBSE mission-based models and leading the adoption of MBSE in the Intelligence Community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Institutionalize Digital Engineering concepts, processes, and tools, and mentor more junior engineers in Digital Engineering principles.
  • Create engineering artifacts and develop models of mission systems using MBSE Digital Engineering tools, including NoMagic Cameo EA, Rhapsody, and Sparx EA.
  • Lead the definition of data standards, data structures, and supporting technologies required to manage data needs.
  • Develop architecture and lead integration of enterprise tools and develop MBSE-based processes to support requirements engineering, ERB process, CONOPS, and architecture development.
  • Lead collaboration between MBSE users and the tool development team to communicate modeling needs and innovate potential solutions.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to senior managers regarding the creation and implementation of new MBSE methods and techniques.

Requirements:

  • 10-12 years of experience with a BS/BA or 8-10 years with a MS/MA.
  • Current and active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
  • BS in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related STEM degree.
  • Experience with industry MBSE tools and modeling methodologies, and demonstrated experience with systems engineering processes in support of system development life cycle development.
  • Experience with UML/SysML modeling languages and applying this common structure to an MBSE solution.
  • Lead a team of engineers to integrate enterprise tools and develop MBSE-based processes.
  • Knowledge or demonstrated experience with DoDAF, UPDM, and/or UAF.
  • Object Certified Systems Modeler Professional (OCSMP) certification.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing requirements.
