Avera is currently seeking a Flight Paramedic to join our esteemed CareFlight Team.
Potential Bonuses Available:
$3,500 Sign-On Bonus
Relocation Assistance:
$1,500 for moves under 500 miles or $2,500 for moves over 500 miles

Job Overview:

A licensed paramedic with a background in emergency medical services, responsible for delivering high-quality patient care under the guidance of the Emergency Department Physician and Unit Manager, in alignment with Avera McKennan Hospital's standards and the CareFlight Program's objectives.

This role may require flexibility to assist at different bases when aircraft are out of service and other locations have open shifts.
Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years of field experience in Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance services, with prior teaching experience or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in all EMS skills and familiarity with various EMS training methodologies is essential.
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and REGISTRATIONS:
  • National Registration as an EMT Paramedic is mandatory.
  • South Dakota EMT-Paramedic License is required.
  • North Dakota EMT Paramedic License must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Flight Paramedic-Certification (FP-C) must be achieved within two years of hire.
  • A valid driver's license is required, and the employee must be insurable under Avera Health's automobile liability insurance.

Varied shifts are available.
Compensation:
The hourly wage for this position is dependent on experience, starting at $31.75 per hour.
