Comprehensive Eye Care Specialist Opportunity

The Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is seeking a skilled optometrist to join its comprehensive eye care division. As a key member of our team, you will provide primary ocular evaluations for patients at our outpatient clinic location in Bethesda, MD.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive vision and medical eye exams within the bounds of individual licensure and Maryland's legal scope of practice.
  • Evaluate patients with diabetic eye disease, dry eye disease, cataracts, and stable glaucoma.
  • Prescribe glasses and soft contact lenses, with opportunities to build a practice in specialty therapeutic contact lenses.
  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide comprehensive care.
  • Participate in departmental and educational activities, including continuing education courses and professional development activities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience or successful completion of an accredited optometry residency program.
  • Expertise/experience in Neuro-Ophthalmology and Diplopia Management is preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of Optometry required.
  • License in good standing in State of Maryland required.
  • National Provider Identification (NPI) required.
