Laboratory Technician

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team at Raleigh General Hospital. As a Phlebotomist-PRN, you will be responsible for collecting and processing blood specimens for testing in the laboratory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and process blood specimens for testing in the laboratory
- Fills in as needed in the department
- Functions as one of the department's primary contacts with patients
- Assists with clerical duties
- Performs phlebotomies
- Performs laboratory Information System functions
- Maintains a clean work area and proper stock on supplies
- Applies knowledge of age-related factors appropriately to patients, utilizing appropriate policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a Phlebotomy course or equivalent training/experience or National Health Career Association Phlebotomy certification preferred
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within 30 days
