Principal Software Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Technical Lead - Systems Engineering to join our team in Herndon, VA.
The successful candidate will have 13+ years of relevant engineering experience with demonstrated knowledge in systems design, build, integration, and test.
This role is contingent upon funding, an open position, customer approval, completion of a favorable background investigation, and successful TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance crossover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop system test requirements;
- Plan, execute, and analyze in support of system integration and verification;
- Work with clients to define and document requirements for software releases;
- Collaborate with Requirements Manager to ensure up-to-date requirements traceability matrices;
- Assist in creating/managing project schedules based on development and release activities;
- Develop Interface Control Documents as requested;
- Provide recommendations to minimize risk when introducing new tools or features.
Requirements:
- 13+ years of relevant engineering experience with demonstrated knowledge in systems design, build, integration, and test;
- Conducting system performance analysis and developing technical performance risk mitigation strategies;
- Ability to analyze issues and define solutions;
- Ability to perform trade studies to optimize system performance;
- Capable of generating detailed systems design and configuration management documentation;
- Strong proficiency in PHP, Ruby, or another web-focused object-oriented programming language;
- Experience serving as technical lead throughout the full software development lifecycle;
- Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle.
Estimated Salary: $118,000 - $246,000 per year
