Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cytotechnologist to join our team at SB Clinical Practice Management. As a Cytotechnologist, you will play a vital role in providing clinical services to our patient population and interacting with physicians, nursing staff, and other hospital personnel in a professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen cytology specimens to determine whether cellular changes meet guidelines for referral to the Pathologist.
  • Prepare written cytologic reports using standard terminology and documentation of immediate assessments, communications to clinicians, and reference to related specimens.
  • Apply appropriate billing codes for each case.
  • Process specimens for microscopic evaluation when needed, following established policies and procedures.
  • Participate in Quality Control and Quality Assurance, as well as Proficiency Testing and Continuing Education.
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate Degree with formal training from an accredited school of Cytotechnology.
  • NYS licensure as a Cytotechnologist or documented eligibility.
  • Registration as a Cytotechnologist with NYSED and a NYSED license in Cytotechnology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Specialist in Cytotechnology certification, SCT (ASCP).
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role include regular communication with patients, staff, and medical providers, as well as constant movement throughout the office to assist patients, staff, and medical providers.

This position requires the ability to exchange accurate information in a timely manner and to maintain a general knowledge of safe practices to ensure the safety of all Laboratory personnel.
