Job Summary

HealthPro Heritage, LLC is seeking a skilled and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. As a COTA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, working closely with our Occupational Therapist to develop and implement treatment plans that promote independence and overall well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Treatment Planning and Implementation: Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address the unique needs and goals of each resident.
  • Direct Care: Provide occupational therapy treatments to residents, including exercises, activities, and interventions designed to promote physical and cognitive function.
  • Documentation and Communication: Maintain accurate and detailed records of resident progress, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Occupational Therapist and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support for residents.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain clinical expertise and stay current with best practices in occupational therapy.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an approved Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Licensure: Current license or eligible for license under statutes in the state of practice.
  • Experience: Prefer experience in a setting serving the same age/type of resident population served by this facility.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to understand and follow directions, and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
Physical Demands
  • Standing: Maintaining an upright position on the feet, especially for prolonged periods of time.
  • Pushing: Applying pressure and exertion force against an object for the purpose of moving it forward or away from the source of the force.
  • Lifting: Raising an object from a lower to a higher position, or moving an object laterally, from position to position.
  • Stooping: Bending the body forward and down from the waist, hips, and knees, sometimes for a prolonged length of time.
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction away from the body.
  • Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or moving surfaces.
