JOB SUMMARY: The Equipment Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for the systematic upkeep of all machinery on-site, ensuring optimal performance. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure the functionality and operation of machinery and mechanical systems.
  • Manage inventory of equipment, parts, and maintenance supplies, assessing stock levels regularly.
  • Forecast required equipment and supplies, placing orders and confirming accuracy upon delivery.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs.
  • Propose enhancements for plant and equipment to improve reliability and availability.
  • Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments in collaboration with engineers, operators, and EHS personnel, providing insights on maintenance trends and issues.
  • Develop schedules and checklists to ensure daily equipment functionality.
  • Maintain accurate records in our software system to track equipment depreciation.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent education required.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience with machinery preferred.
  • Forklift certification is necessary.
  • Technical training is preferred, with a NITEC or vocational certificate in a relevant field (mechanical/electrical/chemical).
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems for gas, diesel, and natural gas engines is advantageous.
  • Experience in performing preventive maintenance on machinery is essential.
  • Basic skills in fabrication, welding, and machining are required.
  • Familiarity with the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System is important.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in safely operating hand tools with minimal supervision.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
