Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse at SSM Health, you will play a critical role in coordinating daily operations and ensuring the implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care. Key Responsibilities
  • Assign and direct nursing and support staff during assigned shifts, contributing to performance evaluations and providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Serve as a resource to staff, providing expertise and guidance to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Manage patient flow within assigned areas, ensuring efficient and effective care delivery.
  • Provide support and coordination for patient emergencies, responding promptly and professionally to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Open and lead incident command for internal or external disasters, working collaboratively with administrative representatives to ensure a safe and effective response.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance desired patient outcomes.
  • Respond to complaints about patient care, managing through established channels to ensure prompt and effective resolution.
  • May provide input for hiring, training, directing, developing, and evaluating staff, contributing to the growth and development of our team.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent education for licensure.
  • Two years' registered nurse experience, with demonstrated progressive leadership responsibility.
Physical Requirements
  • Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, reaching, and keyboard use/data entry.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
  • Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish body sounds, and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting/moving of patients.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Occasional driving.
  • Rare crawling and running.
Professional Licenses and Certifications
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Missouri Division of Professional Registration
  • Registered Nurse (RN) Issued by Compact State
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services
