We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering development team. As a key member of our team, you will design, develop, and test sophisticated RF/Microwave products.
Key Responsibilities- Support product design and development, leading the design, development, and selection of hardware components utilizing mechanical engineering principles, theories, and techniques.
- Perform mechanical analyses, maintaining up-to-date working knowledge of company standard analysis tools, and ensuring adequate analysis to achieve performance objectives.
- Coordinate validation of design, including fabrication and environmental testing of design hardware, and review and document test results.
- Prepare, review, and approve technical content of drawings, engineering specifications, reports, and other documentation associated with the mechanical design.
- Support continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with CAES Quality System and the Mechanical Design Process.
- Minimum: BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline with minimum 4 years of experience, or MS Degree with 2 years of experience.
- Working knowledge of 3D modeling software (Inventor, Solidworks, etc.) and finite element analysis applications (ANSYS, etc.).
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and drawing practices per ASME Y14.100.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Experience with packaging complex integrated RF/Microwave assemblies and sub-systems.
- Background of machined part 3D CAD model designs.
- Ability to estimate amount of time needed for design activities, and incorporate product cost during the initial design phase.
- Experience in electronic packaging of components in enclosures.
- Significant experience with developing 3D models, Autodesk Inventor preferred, models for multi-subsystem complex systems.
