POSITION SUMMARY

The Signage and Graphic Production Specialist plays a crucial role in both the design and manufacturing aspects of signage. This position involves working primarily in two areas: the design studio and the production area, serving as a backup when necessary.

Design Studio Responsibilities

  1. Efficiently organize daily workflow to maximize productivity and cost-effectiveness.
  2. Assess the optimal output method based on client specifications.
  3. Interpret and execute work orders accurately.
  4. Collaborate with colleagues and clients for file transfers and proofing.
  5. Design layouts considering available space, aesthetic appeal, and production needs.
  6. Create detailed illustrations and layouts for print reproduction as per client or supervisor directives.
  7. Allocate sufficient time for each work order.
  8. Verify job accuracy before production, ensuring the correct materials and settings are used.
  9. Maintain a library of client logos and convert graphic files as needed.
  10. Source images while adhering to copyright laws and usage rights.

Production Area Responsibilities

  1. Organize daily tasks to ensure efficient workflow.
  2. Follow established layouts to apply graphics onto substrates.
  3. Prepare surfaces for application, including cutting and cleaning.
  4. Operate various printers as required, including solvent and UV printers.
  5. Remove excess vinyl from designs with precision.
  6. Conduct quality checks before and after assembly to ensure standards are met.
  7. Perform finishing tasks such as laminating and mounting printed materials.
  8. Assist with sign installations when necessary.
  9. Manage the laminating process, ensuring proper settings and material handling.
  10. Support inventory management by unloading materials and maintaining storage areas.
  11. Meet or exceed production targets consistently.
  12. Handle multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to company policies.

General Responsibilities

  1. Maintain professional communication with team members.
  2. Report inventory needs to supervisors.
  3. Enhance knowledge of graphic design and production through ongoing education.
  4. Keep work areas organized and tidy.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Ability to sit for extended periods.
  2. Capability to focus on a computer screen for long durations.
  3. Work effectively under pressure to produce high-quality output.
  4. Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 pounds).
  5. Flexibility to perform tasks that require bending and reaching.
  6. Proficient in using light machinery.
