Division Director of Nursing Excellence and Quality

Overview:
The Division Director of Nursing Excellence and Quality is responsible for leading the operational, financial, and programmatic activities for Nursing Professional Excellence and Quality at UF Health. This includes establishing and monitoring goals and objectives, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic goals, and directing day-to-day operations, budgeting, and human resource management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead a team of highly skilled professionals in nursing education, leadership, and quality improvement.
- Provide ongoing support and integrate core education to address regulatory requirements, patient population, professional practice, and patient safety outcomes.
- Develop, coordinate, and evaluate continuing education and competency programs to improve professional practice and quality care.
- Ensure quality continuing nursing education that meets national standards established by the American Nurses Credentialing Center Commission on Accreditation.
- Provide leadership on projects and programs related to regulatory requirements, professional practice, education, research, quality/safety, and evidence-based practice.
- Effectively address the learning needs of novice to expert nurses within practice and learning environments.
- Direct a professional nursing climate to meet the needs of newly hired and incumbent staff.
- Coach and mentor team members to lead, facilitate, and support organizational strategic initiatives.
- Embrace meaningful change and foster acceptance.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs for successful transition of newly graduated registered nurse residents.
- Monitor clinical progress of Nurse Residents in collaboration with primary unit leadership and nurse residency coordinator.
- Manage department budget to align with organizational objectives.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of nursing leadership experience in a complex, academic medical center with Magnet designation.
- Demonstrated experience in Magnet designation/redesignation processes.
- Expert knowledge of Magnet standards.
- Supervisory responsibility of 30+ employees.
- Experience in budget management, change management, and process improvement initiatives.
Required Education:
Masters degree in nursing.
Preferred Education:
Doctorate/PhD degree.
Required Licensure/Certifications:
Florida RN license and Certification from American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
