Job Summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team of dedicated professionals. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality educational services to students with speech and language disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide diagnostic assessments and therapeutic services to students with speech and language disorders
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to support student learning and achievement
  • Develop and implement augmentative and alternative communication systems to support students with complex communication needs
  • Provide staff education and training to school staff and parents on topics related to speech and language development
  • Participate in activities that support students' educational programs, including IEP meetings and progress monitoring
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Communication Disorders or Speech Pathology from an accredited university or college program
  • Valid license or credential issued by the state licensing board, with the appropriate endorsement(s) for the role
  • Ability to travel to multiple school locations as needed
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including students, parents, teachers, and school administrators
Working Conditions

This is a light work position, requiring the ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
