Job Summary

As an Emergency Department Technician at Sentara, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. You will assist physicians, advanced practitioners, and nurses in implementing plans of care for emergency and minor emergency patients. Your responsibilities will include performing patient procedures and treatments under supervision, as well as de-escalation and physical intervention training.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in implementing plans of care for emergency and minor emergency patients
  • Perform patient procedures and treatments under supervision
  • Participate in de-escalation and physical intervention training
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide excellent patient care
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a high school diploma or equivalent and be certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire. You will also need to have one of the following qualifications:

  • EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire
  • Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates
  • Current student enrolled in a clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy)
