Job Purpose:
As a Shift Leader at Freddy's, you will play a vital role in shaping the guest experience by maintaining the dining room's appearance, hiring, and training quality staff, and ensuring good customer service. Your leadership skills and attention to detail will be essential in driving the success of our restaurant.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to our recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards.
  • Inspect the quality of fruits, vegetables, and fish used to prepare sushi dishes and inform the Manager on Duty when quality is sub-standard.
  • Maintain a clean work environment to prevent food contamination and ensure a safe working space for our team members.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and wait staff to ensure that special requests and food allergy considerations are met.
  • Work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment typical of a restaurant front-of-house and back-of-house, including, but not limited to, flattop grill, oven, mixer, food processor, dicer, and steam wells.
  • Assist in hiring for our restaurant's bar and waitstaff, following our hiring processes to meet our needs.
  • Assist in the scheduling and training sessions of our servers, bartenders, and hosts.
  • Supervise upkeep of guest areas by directing staff to attend to messes or accidents.
  • Assist in shift planning to ensure each shift is properly staffed.
  • Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.

  • Must pass a background check per KMG standards.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate detailed information to guests, colleagues, and management.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as recipes, procedure manuals, and job instructions.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to operate a computer and computer software, including proficiency in our store Point of Sale system.
  • Must have a strong understanding of safety practices.
  • Strong leadership skills and attention to detail are a must.
  • Possess strong organizational and decision-making skills, and the ability to multitask is a must.
  • Work well in a fast-paced setting.
  • At least 6 months' experience in a similar capacity.
  • Ability to lead by example.
  • Positivity is imperative.

  • Licenses and Certification

  • Occasionally travel by airline.
