Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Care Specialist to join our Pediatric Intensive Unit (PICU) team at UW Health. As an Advanced Practice Provider, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, cost-effective care to pediatric patients with complex cardiac conditions.

About the Role
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to critically ill pediatric patients in an inpatient setting.
  • Conduct daily physical assessments and develop individualized plans of care for patients with acute health problems.
  • Participate in daily rounding and collaborate with attending physicians and consulting teams to adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Perform routine clinical procedures independently, including sedations, line placement, and airway management, within established scope of practice guidelines.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nursing Program (if NP) or Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited PA Program (if PA).
  • State of Wisconsin licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA), including prescriptive authority.
  • Active certifications and licenses in state(s) of practice, including APRN certifications and PA board certification.
  • Active DEA license or ability to apply prior to hire.
