A New Leaf is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pet Companion Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being of pets in families impacted by domestic violence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide care and companionship to animals within our DV Pet Program, ensuring their safety and comfort during their stay.
- Assist in coordinating pet services, such as veterinary care and pet supplies, while working closely with clients to support the human-animal bond.
- Collaborate with partners in the community, vet hospitals, and rescues to provide comprehensive support to pets and their families.
- Conduct intakes on new animals, assess medical needs, schedule vet visits, and coordinate with staff to ensure seamless care.
- Maintain a productive relationship with pet parents, providing regular updates and support to ensure their pets receive the best possible care.
- Create and maintain enrichment, basic care, and the needs of the animals, including training, grooming, and socialization.
- Assist with animal needs, including cleaning kennels, litter boxes, and dog yards, as well as transporting animals in a company van.
- Form and build long-term partnerships with other rescues, vet clinics, and community organizations to enhance our services and support.
- Order supplies as needed, including exit box materials, and ensure a continued partnership with donors.
- Complete accurate documentation in various databases and all program paperwork in a timely, correct, and thorough manner.
- Attend meetings, including weekly case review meetings, program meetings, and development team meetings, to stay informed and contribute to our mission.

- Valid Driver's License with reliable transportation
- Current Auto Liability Insurance
- 39-Month Motor Vehicle Record
- Must Be At Least 21 Years of Age
