We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team at US Foods, Inc. As a key member of our logistics team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of our products to customers across the country.
Key Responsibilities- Safely Operate a Commercial Vehicle: Drive a Class A truck to customers and meet scheduled delivery times, ensuring the safe transportation of goods.
- Unload Products: Carefully unload products from the trailer using a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand, and place them in designated customer storage areas.
- Verify Deliveries: Verify the accuracy of deliveries with customers and obtain proper signatures.
- Handle Collections and Payments: Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable.
- Provide Excellent Customer Service: Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience.
- Perform Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections: Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
- Commercial Driving Experience: Must have a minimum of six months commercial driving experience (any industry) or three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry.
- CDL Class A: Must have a valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications.
- Physical Abilities: Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift, and comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops.
- Communication Skills: Must be able to read and communicate in the English language, able to hold a conversation, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and enter information on reports and records.
