Collaboration with personnel from different departments and affiliated entities is essential to guarantee the timely and precise execution of accounting cycle closings and service requests.
This position anticipates growth in complexity of tasks and management responsibilities over time.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyzes business transactions and events to prepare general journal entries, ensuring thorough documentation of all transactions.
Provides comprehensive support for journal entries through underlying documents, schedules, and detailed explanations.
Reviews journal entries for accuracy both before and after recording to confirm the expected impact on the balance sheet and related income or expense accounts.
Conducts month-end reconciliations of accounts, delivering insightful analysis and reasonable explanations for the components of assigned accounts.
Researches and applies generally accepted accounting principles to support financial operations, proposing effective solutions to accounting challenges based on a strong understanding of accounting principles and business activities.
Engages in communication and collaboration with colleagues in relevant operational groups and management to ensure clarity regarding business transactions and to achieve efficient accounting outcomes.
Assists in the assessment, design, and implementation of internal controls to ensure the accuracy and completeness of account balances and periodic activities.
Conducts reviews of sample populations of expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies.
Acts as the primary accountant responsible for consolidated foreign currency revaluation and translation processes, and serves as the main resource for accounting related to marketing and advertising expenses.
Leads accounting efforts for shell and holding companies, including intercompany eliminations and consolidation accounting.
Supports annual audits and quarterly reviews conducted by external auditors and lenders by preparing necessary audit schedules and reports, providing explanations as required.
Assists operating companies, internal service providers, and external auditors with accounting-related inquiries and requests.
Engages in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required, with coursework in intermediate and advanced accounting topics such as foreign currency translation, consolidation, and auditing.
CPA designation or progress towards CPA certification is preferred.
A minimum of 4 years of progressive general accounting experience or 2+ years of public accounting experience is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, is required, with advanced Excel skills preferred.
Strong analytical abilities and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP systems is desired, along with a solid understanding of basic accounting system functionalities.
A self-starter with a proactive approach, capable of multitasking, and possessing strong interpersonal skills to effectively respond to inquiries and present information to accounting and business managers.
Ability to identify and define problems, gather supporting data, establish facts, propose solutions, and meet deadlines.
