Job Summary

As an Echocardiography Specialist at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to pediatric and adult patients with congenital heart disease. Under the supervision of Pediatric Cardiologists and clinical supervisors, you will perform echocardiographic imaging, facilitate continuity of care, and ensure the effective delivery of diagnostic imaging and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily echocardiograms, including 2D, M-mode, color, Doppler, video, and digital back-up, and provide preliminary reporting of echo findings to physicians.
  • Conduct advanced procedures with physician direction and support, such as exercise and pharmacological stress echos, fetal echos, etc.
  • Document all procedures, including echo worksheets, print-outs, logbooks, charge sheets for billing, and dubbing studies for interpretation/Cath/surgery consideration.
  • Ensure infection control, confidentiality, and safety standards are met in the echo lab.
  • Participate in quality assurance and data collection for research, publication, and internal auditing purposes.
Requirements
  • Post-high school education up to 18 months
  • Graduate of an accredited program or equivalent on-the-job training as accepted by credentialing organizations
  • No previous experience required, but months of experience preferred
  • RDCS - Registered Cardiac Sonographer certification
  • CPR certification
