About the Role

Portsmouth Regional Hospital is seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our radiology department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians with minimally invasive procedures and provide diagnostic aid by using fluoroscopic equipment to conduct scans on patients according to established practices and standards.
  • Prepare equipment, monitor inventory, maintain cleanliness of procedure room and work area.
  • Render patient care in a professional and courteous manner. Explain all procedures to the patient. Performs physical assessment by checking IV's, catheters, tubing, etc.
  • Assist the radiologist in administering medications and contrast agents intravenously.
  • Maintain sterile technique during Interventional Radiology procedures.
  • Real-time review of scans for technical accuracy (i.e. technical quality, correct anatomical positioning, annotation, etc...).
  • Complete verification process in PACS in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an AMA approved program.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist with ARRT.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Ability to perform Interventional Procedures.
  • Effective communication and management within a service line environment.
  • Two years of experience as a Radiology Technologist.
