About the Job
This position involves working closely with licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality care to patients across various settings, including clinics, hospitals, and inpatient facilities. Your contributions will play a vital role in helping patients regain mobility, improve their physical function, and enhance their overall quality of life.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Conduct therapeutic exercises and modalities as directed by the supervising therapist.
- Monitor patient progress and report changes in condition or response to treatment.
- Participate in discharge planning and contribute to the development of care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments, progress notes, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Support specialized areas such as orthopedics, pediatrics, geriatrics, occupational health, and hospital medicine as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
- An Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Experience in inpatient or outpatient settings preferred; familiarity with discharge planning is a plus.
- Knowledge of therapeutic techniques related to orthopedics, pediatrics, geriatrics, and occupational health is desirable.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- A compassionate demeanor with a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
- The ability to perform physical tasks associated with patient care activities.
