Amentum is a leading provider of nuclear services, working on some of the most challenging radioactive waste cleanup projects in the country. Our team is dedicated to reducing the environmental risk posed by 56 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste stored in 177 underground tanks on the Hanford Site.

Responsibilities

">

This role will involve a variety of engineering duties, including:

">
  • ">
  • Maintaining the technical baseline">
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of documented safety analysis and environmental permits">
  • Making technically defendable decisions on engineering issues and representing the engineering organization in meetings with other company organizations and/or with the client and other stakeholders">
  • Coordinating with retrieval and closure, projects, construction, operations, one system, waste treatment plant organizations to ensure that client and company commitments are met">
  • Managing and/or monitoring assigned systems">
  • Managing resources to support resolution of system issues in a timely manner">
  • Monitoring and supporting ongoing operations and activities">
  • Inputting to/developing and approving (as necessary) system related work packages, operating procedures and ECNs">
  • Reviewing and approving new or changes to operating or maintenance procedures">
  • Reviewing and approving requirements for preventive maintenance, surveillances, and establishing post-maintenance testing">
  • Implementing the WRPS System Engineer Program">
  • Obtaining and maintaining qualification for assigned system">
  • Serving as TOC technical expert for the requirements contained in the Documented Safety Analysis (DSA)">
  • Defining and maintaining TOC System technical baseline documents and design change documents">
  • Monitoring and trending system performance and reliability">
  • Preparing and presenting System Status Reports on routine intervals">
  • Conducting field walk-downs, developing specifications, performing and/or reviewing calculations, development/reviewing technical and operability evaluations, and performance of design review, procedural review">
  • Coordinating and integrating technical information and activities for engineering personnel for assigned secondary-systems(s) in support of the main system(s) assignment">

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • ">
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline">
  • 2+ years of experience in related field">
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills">
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team">
  • Familiarity with ASME B31 piping codes and transfer systems">
  • Previous experience working on a nuclear site and with operations and maintenance of waste transfer systems">

The estimated salary range for this role is $86,138 - $131,425 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
