Job Summary

Soliant is seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team in a contract position. The successful candidate will work with elementary school students in an ABA program, collaborating with an Occupational Therapist and Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to support students' language and communication development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess students referred for possible speech and language needs, utilizing evidence-based practices and assessments.
  • Provide individual and/or group therapy sessions for students with identified speech and language disorders, adapting therapy activities to meet the needs of students with IEP and behavioral plan requirements.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans, presenting them to parents, school administrators, and other stakeholders involved in student evaluations.
  • Consult with teachers, counselors, parents, nurses, and administrators on speech and language concerns, providing expert guidance and support.
  • Maintain accurate records for all students on the caseload, ensuring compliance with Connecticut Special Education procedures and best practices.
  • Provide regular progress reports to parents, keeping them informed of their child's progress and goals.
  • Organize student caseload and develop a schedule for each assigned school, ensuring efficient and effective use of time.
  • Develop and maintain resource materials for use in speech and language development, staying up-to-date with best practices and research-based interventions.
Requirements
  • Current Connecticut SLP license
  • SLP certificate from the Department of Education

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Solid organizational and time management skills
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Connecticut Special Education procedures and best practices for SLPs in school settings
