Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in payroll processing to ensure timely, compliant, and accurate processing of payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed, accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws as well as adherence to industry best practices.
  • Assist with the facilitation of audits by fulfilling audit requests with substantiated records and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing payroll systems and procedures, recommending and implementing updates as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field.
  • 3+ years' related experience required, including payroll processing.
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll functions, including: Payroll tax return and general ledger reconciliations, Payroll internal controls, Benefit taxation implications and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel (Pivot tables and V-lookups).
  • Strong proficiency in Ultipro/UKG/Kronos payroll software.
