Job Overview

Position Title: Packaging Operations Associate

Role Summary:
Pacesetter is seeking a dedicated packaging operations associate to support Machine Operators at the conclusion of the production line. Responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing hand tools for banding and un-banding steel coils
  • Ensuring proper packaging of steel products
  • Employing calipers and tape measures to confirm dimensions
  • Reading measurements accurately
  • Feeding coils into machinery
  • Reporting any visible defects in steel to the Operator

Training: Initial training will occur during the first shift before transitioning to the second shift (3pm-11pm, Monday to Friday).

Essential Skills
  • Proficient in using hand tools for steel banding
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Ability to interpret tape measurements
Employment Type

This position is a Contract-to-Hire opportunity with a duration of 6 months.

Work Environment

This role is fully on-site in a steel processing facility. The environment includes:

  • Large rolls of steel
  • Overhead cranes and slitters
  • Banding machinery

The facility specializes in precision steel coil slitting with capabilities for producing a camber-free product. It is equipped with packing lines designed for efficient banding and packaging of finished goods. Other machinery in use includes forklifts, overhead cranes, grinders, band saws, and cut-to-length machines. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as steel-toe boots and hard hats is mandatory.
