We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to join our team at Wellstar Health System, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures, including CT scans, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Procedures
- Operate CT scanners to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
- Position patients for optimal image quality and safety.
- Adjust technical factors to ensure accurate and detailed images.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses.
- Patient Care
- Provide excellent patient care and communication, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the imaging process.
- Verify patient identity and medical history before each procedure.
- Administer contrast media and other medications as required.
- Monitor patients during procedures and respond to any adverse reactions.
- Quality Control
- Perform routine quality control checks on CT scanners to ensure optimal performance.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Collaborate with the radiology team to ensure accurate and timely image interpretation.
- Operations
- Restock supplies and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Transport patients and assist with positioning for procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance on CT scanners and other equipment.
- Education
- Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.
- Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in radiology, preferably in CT.
- Certifications
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography and Computed Tomography.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
The CT Technologist will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with frequent exposure to radiation and potentially hazardous materials. The successful candidate must be able to lift and move patients, as well as stand for long periods.
