Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technician to join our team at St. Mary Mercy Hospital, Livonia. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Operating Room Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons with surgical procedures, providing necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  • Prepare operating rooms for surgery, checking case carts and preference sheets, and aseptically opening instruments and supplies.
  • Maintain sterile fields and assist during cases, providing surgical teams with necessary instruments, sponges, sutures, and medications.
  • Participate in sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
  • Communicate with circulating nurses to ensure continuity of patient care.
  • Transport laboratory, surgical instruments, and supplies as needed.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in Surgical Technology or specialized training in the Armed Forces.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Surgical Technician.
  • Surgical Technician Certification preferred.
  • BLS Certification.
