Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, including washing and cleaning dishes, pots, and pans.
  • Assist with food service duties, including preparing and serving meals.
  • Operate a vehicle to collect and transport food donations.
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks, including vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning restrooms.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service and interact with the public in a professional and respectful manner.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Working Conditions:

This is a part-time position, working 27.5 hours per week. The schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 2:30pm. The Salvation Army is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.

Software Skills:

  • Ability to log in and out of a Microsoft Windows computer.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills preferred.

Driving Requirements:

  • Valid WA driver's license and clean DMV record required.
  • Ability to meet fleet safety driving guidelines.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
  • Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects.
  • Ability to reach overhead.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate a telephone and desktop or laptop computer.
  • Ability to safely operate the Soup Kitchen truck to collect and load food donations.
  • Ability to use basic warehouse equipment such as dollies and pallet jacks.
