About the Role

Abbott Laboratories is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our Heart Failure Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions for our CardioMEMS HF system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop prototype Printed Circuit Boards, fixtures, and tools
  • Apply advanced engineering principles to evaluate and solve technical problems
  • Initiate and coordinate engineering work with internal teams and external suppliers
  • Identify and implement best practices to execute processes efficiently
  • Conduct evaluations, tests, and analyses related to feasibility and function
  • Perform troubleshooting and fault isolation activities on breadboards and test benches
  • Document custom tools with specifications, schematics, and mechanical layouts
  • Draft and iterate specifications for external suppliers to meet design goals
  • Comply with FDA regulations, Company policies, and operating procedures
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 10 years relevant work experience in prototype design and development
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new design features and deliver tool engineering information
  • Advanced personal computer skills, including spreadsheet, word processing, and database management
  • Ability to work in a matrixed and geographically diverse business environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced credential or professional certification in a relevant discipline
  • Training and experience in manufacturing processes and methods
  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model
