Safety Manager

Schiavone is seeking a highly skilled Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for our employees and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Safety Manager for daily work activities and ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations.
  • Perform regular safety checks and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Document all safety findings and corrective actions taken, including near misses and incidents.
  • Complete daily safety reports and provide regular updates to management.
  • Communicate effectively with all designated competent persons before, during, and after completion of their work shifts.
  • Carry out any other assigned tasks given by the Area Safety Manager or Area Project Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of the 40-hour NYC-Department of Buildings Site Safety Manager Course.
  • Successful completion of the 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety & Health (29 CFR 1926) Course.
  • Active membership in the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP).
  • Minimum two (2) years of safety or safety-related experience.
  • Familiarity with the type of work being performed.
  • Competent to instruct on-site personnel.
  • Able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Possess and maintain a current New York State Department of Labor Asbestos Inspectors License.
  • Possess and maintain a current C-3/C-5 Supervisor / Competent Person Training for De-leading of Industrial Structures Certificate.
