Job Summary

The Radiation Therapist is a vital member of our team, responsible for administering ionizing radiation for therapeutic purposes in accordance with the prescription of the Radiation Oncologist. This role requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and implement prescription and treatment plans as directed by the Radiation Oncologist.
  • Perform simulation procedures and prepare immobilization devices for various body parts.
  • Monitor patients' clinical progress and obtain accurate measurements, contours, and other information as needed for dosimetry purposes.
  • Assist in clinical training and evaluation of student therapists, if applicable.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with all members of the healthcare team, patients, and families.
Requirements
  • Radiology Tech License from the State of Utah.
  • Certification in Radiation Therapy from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy from an accredited institution.
Work Environment

This role requires frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors, as well as manual dexterity to manipulate complex equipment. The ability to lift and transfer patients, as well as stand for extended periods, is also necessary.
