Supervisory Contract Specialist

This position is located at the Northern Navajo Medical Center, Division of Acquisitions Management and Contract. The primary purpose of this role is to initiate individual or consolidated procure actions, negotiate and administer contracts for a diverse range of programs.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate with Service Unit and/or Area Office technical personnel, program supervisors, and local leadership to develop an Annual Acquisition Plan for the coming fiscal year.
- Procure or provide guidance to subordinates to purchase commodities and services, including equipment, protective clothing, construction materials, and professional services.
- Document or provide guidance to subordinates to prepare findings and recommendations for the Contracting Officer, referencing Federal Acquisition Regulations, HHS Acquisition Regulations, Public Laws, and procurement policies.
- Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- A one-year supervisory/managerial probationary period may be required upon selection/placement.
- Measles and Rubella immunization is required for selectees born after 1957.
- Seasonal influenza immunization is required for all staff working in Indian Health Service health care facilities.
- COVID-19 vaccination is required for all selectees prior to entrance on duty.
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the specific position.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs and other organizations.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
EducationThis position has an education requirement.
You are strongly encouraged to submit a copy of your transcripts or a list of your courses, including titles, credit hours completed, and grades.
Official transcripts will be required from all selectees prior to receiving an official offer.
