ALLERGY NURSE Description

Role Overview:

The Allergy Nurse is a registered nursing professional responsible for delivering exceptional care to patients with allergies and related conditions. This role involves working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive management of patients' health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with complex allergy-related issues.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement appropriate interventions.
  • Administer allergen immunotherapy and perform allergy testing procedures.
  • Educate patients and their families on allergen avoidance strategies and proper use of inhalers and other devices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with nursing standards and protocols.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to departmental goals.
  • Manage inventory of allergen extracts and ensure proper handling and storage.

Work Environment:

The Allergy Nurse will work in various clinical settings, providing care in both outpatient and community environments. Flexibility in scheduling is essential to meet the needs of the department and patients.

Qualifications:
