Job Summary

At Houston Healthcare, we're committed to delivering exceptional patient care and service. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the continuity of workflow between patients and our clinical laboratory. Your primary responsibility will be to process all patients who come to the laboratory for clinical tests, ensuring that patient samples are adequate in amount and that the integrity of the sample is maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare specimens for referral to reference laboratories and various departments of the laboratory.
  • Utilize a variety of venipuncture and capillary equipment and supplies.
  • Utilize centrifuge for separation of serum and/or plasma from cells.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology appropriate for scope of duties.
  • Computer skills and knowledge; good communication skills; ability to perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately.
  • Utilize office equipment such as fax machine, copier, telephone, file cabinets, computers, printers, etc.

Requirements
  • Candidates will be subject to criminal background and drug screens.
