Job Overview
This role involves delivering educational content in alignment with the institution's mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities
Ensure adherence to the established course syllabus.

Provide learners with the syllabus detailing course expectations, objectives, assessment methods, and resources by the conclusion of the initial week of instruction.


Employ diverse teaching strategies to accommodate students with varying educational backgrounds and learning preferences. Facilitate opportunities for students to self-evaluate their progress and ensure they have ample time to achieve course objectives.

Submit course outlines and any supplementary materials to the Division Office promptly. Maintain designated office hours as per institutional guidelines. Facilitate student evaluations of instruction and ensure submissions are directed to the appropriate office.

Engage in faculty orientation, professional development workshops, and activities aimed at enhancing teaching skills. Commit to ongoing professional growth and support the community college's mission to serve the local population.

Execute all other relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or a Master's Degree with at least eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in Computer Science.

Note:

A transcript evidencing the required education must be submitted for consideration, showcasing completed coursework and conferred degrees.

Candidates must meet the qualifications at the time of application.

  • Experience in teaching the subject area.
  • Capability to instruct at the community college level.
  • Proficiency in integrating technology into the educational environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate coursework in Computer Science, including Advanced Algorithms, Theory of Computation, Logical Foundations of Computer Science, and Advanced Computer Architecture.
  • Experience in online teaching.

Special Considerations:

1. The institution is creating a pool of applicants for part-time faculty positions. Faculty are engaged on a part-time basis for each semester, depending on the needs of the institution. Applications are accepted throughout the year from qualified candidates interested in part-time teaching opportunities. Hiring decisions are based on institutional requirements. Courses may be scheduled during the day, evening, or weekend across various locations during the academic year. This applicant pool will be utilized when vacancies arise. Applications will remain active for approximately one year.
