About the Role

The Mental Health Associate serves as a vital link between internal and external stakeholders in the care of patients experiencing mental health crises. This role involves providing direct and indirect care, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with the care team.

Responsibilities include collecting and reporting information to the care team, supervising RNs, Charge Nurses, BART teams, and Substance Abuse Navigators. Additional duties involve de-escalation techniques, ADLs, vital signs, patient observations/rounding, and identifying safety risks throughout the unit.

Requirements

  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire
  • Avade and/or other de-escalation training upon hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coursework/Training:
  • 6 months of experience providing direct patient care as a MHW in a behavioral health or chemical dependency inpatient, residential or outpatient program/unit.
  • 1 year of behavioral Health experience or related experience.
