Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our in-house insurance defense law office as a Legal Secretary. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our attorneys, preparing legal documents, managing case files, and coordinating litigation activities.

Responsibilities
  • Work with moderate supervision on clearly defined tasks and priorities
  • Use automation tools to accurately and efficiently update and maintain cases
  • Draft routine correspondence, motions, pleadings, and subpoenas
  • Provide litigation assistance by coordinating witnesses, schedules, exhibits for trials or hearings, and securing records
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A strong command of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and proofreading skills
  • Knowledge of legal and medical terminology, local and state rules regarding pleadings and pre-trial matters, deadlines, and filing requirements
  • 1-2 years of Civil Defense Litigation Secretarial Experience
  • Knowledge and experience with Broward and West Palm E-Filing (Portal) and court procedures
