Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse in the ICU, you will play a crucial role in delivering and coordinating care for critically ill patients. Your responsibilities will include:
- Administering prescribed medications, changing dressings, cleaning wounds, and monitoring vital signs.
- Providing respiratory care, ventilator management, and patient monitoring.
- Acting as the primary coordinator for all disciplines involved in patient care.
- Documenting and communicating patient conditions effectively using computerized systems.
- Assessing and coordinating discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or a compact state.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification must be obtained within six months of hire or transfer from a non-ICU area.
- Specialty certification is preferred.
- One to two years of clinical nursing experience preferred.
- ICU experience is preferred.
