Job Title: Truck Driver

This position requires the ability to drive a truck with a capacity of at least 26,001 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). The ideal candidate will have a commercial driver's license and be able to load and unload vehicles as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive a truck with a capacity of at least 26,001 pounds GVWR
  • Load and unload vehicles as required
  • Inspect vehicle to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting goods
  • Secure cargo for transport
  • Read and interpret maps to determine vehicle routes
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicle
  • Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required
  • Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources
  • Operate equipment, such as truck cab computer, cellular phones, driver cameras, GPS equipment
  • Load or unload trucks or help other with loading or unloading
  • Maintain proficiency in all organizational safe working policies and practices
  • Performs other driver-related duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of on-the-job training
  • Two years of related experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and relay written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to operate available equipment, such as calculators, or scanners
  • Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds
  • Knowledgeable about company's products and services, and customer-related policies
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be in adequate physical condition to perform requirements such as mental, physical and manual dexterity, hand/grip strength, depth perception and any other physical attributes that enable the employee to perform the job safely according to all Company, Local, State, and Federal regulations and requirements
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 75 pounds regularly
  • Ability to push/pull up to 75 pounds regularly
  • Must wear prescribed personal protective equipment when handling material or operating equipment
Other Requirements:
  • Successfully pass a DOT drug test as requested, a DOT physical capacity assessment, a background and motor vehicle check
  • Must maintain a valid commercial driver's license and driving record that meets the organization safe driving standards
