We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Materials Testing Field Technician to join our team at NOVA Engineering and Environmental, LLC.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct field testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and masonry mortar/grout to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Review blueprints and prepare for field observations on construction sites.
- Document field activities, observations, and testing results, and verify conformance with project plans and specifications.
- Utilize field and laboratory information management systems to record testing results.
- Communicate testing results with construction services, geotechnical project management staff, general contractors, and clients.
- Calibrate field and laboratory equipment to industry codes and standards.
- 2+ years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials.
- ACI certification is required.
- ICC certifications in Soils, Reinforced Concrete, etc. are preferred.
- Ability to lift 40 to 50 lbs. (field/laboratory samples and equipment) is required.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work and maneuver equipment on uneven ground and around active construction sites.
- Willingness to travel out-of-town for short duration assignments.
- Use of a company vehicle and gas card for daily travel to work sites.
