Electric Substation Technician

Position Summary:

Talent Corps is in search of a skilled Electric Substation Technician to become a vital part of our workforce. This position focuses on the upkeep, assembly, and enhancement of electrical substation apparatus as part of a committed team. Candidates with substantial experience in substation operations are encouraged to consider this temp-to-hire role. Compensation ranges from $42 to $45 per hour, depending on qualifications, along with a daily per diem of $125.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the maintenance and construction of substation apparatus, including circuit breakers, transformers, switches, battery systems, tap changers, cooling systems, and lightning arresters.
• Upgrade existing substation equipment and systems.
• Construct concrete drilled shaft foundations and pads.
• Install supporting steel structures, station insulators, grounding grids, and bus systems.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in substation operations.
• Proficiency in bus welding, steel setting, and timing switches.
• Capability to construct and retrofit substations.
• Strong knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
• Dependable and detail-oriented with excellent teamwork abilities.

Additional Information:

• Background Check: A comprehensive 10-year background check is mandatory.
