This position operates on weekdays only, with no requirement for holidays, weekends, or on-call duties. Some later evening shifts may be necessary.

Role Overview: The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for executing thorough cleaning protocols in the surgical environment and ensuring a safe, hygienic atmosphere. Key responsibilities include:

  • Adhering to established procedures for comprehensive cleaning and sanitization of the operating room, pre-operative, and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) areas.
  • Utilizing industrial-grade cleaning solutions and approved disinfectants while following all safety guidelines.
  • Cleaning, disinfecting, and preparing stretchers and beds.
  • Ensuring timely turnover of all rooms between surgical cases.
  • Restocking all designated areas as needed.
  • Transporting equipment as instructed.
  • Complying with Standard Precautions by using personal protective equipment as required.
  • Assisting the Hospitality Services Management team with additional tasks as requested.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in environmental services or housekeeping within a healthcare environment.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting (50+ lbs).

USPI adheres to all federal, state, and local regulations regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce. Candidates offered this position may be required to provide proof of full vaccination or obtain an exemption for religious or medical reasons prior to starting. Those with exemptions will need to participate in regular testing as mandated by law.
