  • Formulating, designing, and executing thorough quality assurance strategies and testing methodologies specifically for APIs across various frameworks (such as Spring, Node, etc.).
  • Creating detailed test plans, cases, and scenarios for functional, non-functional, regression, and performance assessments of APIs, ensuring comprehensive coverage of requirements and user interactions.
  • Developing, implementing, and sustaining automated testing frameworks and scripts utilizing tools like Selenium, TestRail, or equivalent, to optimize regression testing and ensure repeatability.
  • Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using platforms like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps, while collaborating with DevOps teams to embed automated testing within the development workflow.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest testing tools, technologies, and best practices, assessing their relevance to improve testing efficiency, coverage, and accuracy for APIs.
  • Conducting performance, load, and scalability testing of APIs to pinpoint bottlenecks, enhance application performance, and guarantee a seamless user experience across diverse usage scenarios.
  • Working alongside security teams to implement and conduct API security assessments, including vulnerability evaluations, penetration testing, and compliance audits to adhere to industry standards and regulations.
  • Identifying, prioritizing, and tracking defects using bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla) and collaborating with development teams to ensure prompt resolution and validation of fixes.
  • Assessing API usability, accessibility, and design elements through usability testing, A/B testing, and user feedback analysis to elevate overall application quality and user satisfaction.
  • Documenting test plans, cases, results, and metrics, and generating comprehensive reports and dashboards for stakeholders, emphasizing quality insights, risks, and recommendations.
  • Collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, designers, and QA teams, and communicating testing progress, issues, and recommendations clearly and concisely.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Expertise in developing test plans, cases, and scenarios for APIs.
  • Experience in functional, regression, usability, performance, and security testing of APIs.
  • Familiarity with API testing frameworks and tools such as TestRail, Selenium, etc.
  • Strong hands-on experience in creating and maintaining automated test scripts for APIs using relevant tools and frameworks.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript for automation tasks and test script development.
  • Experience in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and collaborating with DevOps teams.
  • Understanding of API application development frameworks, architectures, and technologies to effectively design and execute testing strategies.
  • Ability to analyze logs, debug issues, and troubleshoot API performance, compatibility, and functionality challenges.
  • Solid knowledge of QA methodologies, processes, and best practices, including agile testing methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • Experience in maintaining test documentation, defect tracking, and reporting using tools like Jira, Bugzilla, TestRail, or similar.
  • Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to convey testing progress, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders and contribute to quality-related discussions.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify test scenarios, prioritize testing efforts, and analyze results to detect defects and areas for improvement.
