Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis and Research:
Conduct detailed data analysis using advanced statistical techniques, develop proof-of-concept models for quality assurance, and convert raw data from various sources into structured database formats. Utilize SQL, Python, and other languages to compile and manipulate complex program datasets. Prepare data for visualization software, review and critique program staff reports and publications, ensuring sound methodology and interpretation.
Data Quality and Integrity:
Propose systematic improvements to enhance data analysis efficiency and quality. Assess data quality by identifying inconsistencies, errors, or gaps in datasets. Collaborate with internal groups to improve data quality and consult on enhancements to data collection systems and analytics methods. Recommend data management tools and implement data and reporting standards. Prepare scientific publications, briefings, and presentations.
Visualization and Communication:
Determine optimal methods for addressing data requests, constructing performance measures, and implementing visualizations to monitor service trends. Translate business requirements into performance measure visualizations and reports for complex agency programs. Consult with hospital administrators, state and national organizations on HIV/STD, immunization, and TB epidemiology and surveillance activities. Engage with diverse agency stakeholders to build relationships and devise creative solutions for analytic projects. Utilize effective communication skills to gather information and assess customer needs.
Requirements:
Knowledge and Skills:
Advanced proficiency in statistical programming languages (SQL, R, Python, SAS). Expertise in professional data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, ArcGIS, Shiny, Dash). Strong understanding of statistical modeling and causal inference. Comprehensive knowledge of measurement, testing, and evaluation methodologies.
Abilities:
Develop and deliver effective training on research and data methods. Interpret and translate complex statistical data for various stakeholders. Assess reliability and validity of data collection methods and epidemiologic designs. Foster effective working relationships and collaborate in team environments. Maintain data integrity throughout analysis processes. Evaluate and critique analyses performed by program staff. Manage and query complex databases efficiently.
