The Installation Specialist position at Pella Corporation works collaboratively with the install team to ensure seamless installation of new windows and doors in new construction and replacement applications. This role involves recovery situations and strives to maintain 100% "Very Satisfied" customers. Travel requirements range from 25% to 50%.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reads work order forms and other specifications to determine installation methods, work procedures, and material requirements.
  • Secures windows and doors to walls/openings according to Pella Corporation's installation guidelines and quality standards.
  • Cleans job sites after installation.
  • Communicates effectively with customers and serves as a reputable Pella representative on all job sites.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the highest quality of work.
  • Works in a way that prevents damage to products.
  • Uses, maintains, and stores company-provided tools appropriately.
  • Performs installation recovery work following installations.
  • Meets company safety requirements by keeping work areas neat and clean, following safety precautions, and wearing required safety apparel.
  • Special projects as assigned.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and comply with the company Fleet Safety Policy.

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma or GED and dependable work history.

Prior knowledge of general construction applications and terminology, as well as window and door applications and components, is required. Prior experience with power tools is also necessary.

Language and Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written English language skills are required, along with good customer service skills. Ability to read, interpret, understand, and explain documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information to others, gather information from others, and respond appropriately to questions from employees, managers, co-workers, agents, customers, and the general public. Must be able to resolve conflicts in the best interests of the business and our customers. Must display excellent phone and email etiquette and the ability to communicate in a professional manner. Must be able to make eye contact and present an appropriate persona for the situation when interacting with fellow employees or waiting on a customer/visitor in person on a regular and consistent basis.

Mathematical and Reasoning Skills:

Ability to subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform calculations using units of money, time, measurement, etc. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, length, width, height, and depth. Must be able to use sound judgment and make objective decisions in the company's best interest at all times.

Repetitive body motions may be required. Time commitment required of this position will vary with the seasons.

Must be available to work outside a "normal" work week (overtime) as necessary.

Primary work location will be company warehouse facilities and customer job sites. The employee will be required to enter the company's warehouse located at the same address or other locations on a regular basis. The noise level of this job is typically moderate to loud. Temperature fluctuates with seasons. This employee is frequently exposed to power tools and moving mechanical parts.
