Nurse Practitioner Outpatient BMT Manhattan Days

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Outpatient BMT department at NYU Langone Health. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning, in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
- Collaborate with attending physicians, consulting physicians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct thorough health histories, physical examinations, and psychosocial assessments to identify patient needs and develop targeted interventions.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory and radiological studies, to inform treatment decisions.
- Prescribe medications, including controlled substances, in accordance with New York State law and hospital policies.
- Develop and implement education programs for patients and families, addressing topics such as disease management, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices and policies.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to ensure timely communication with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
- Master's degree in Nursing.
- Current registration as a Professional Nurse in New York and registration as a Nurse Practitioner in New York.
- Certification in a clinical area of practice, such as Hematology/Oncology.
- At least five years of clinical nursing practice in the care of the patient population served.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Previous experience as a nurse practitioner in an outpatient setting.
- Membership in professional specialty organizations, such as the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
