Key responsibilities include:

  • Drafting and editing professional correspondence, including emails, letters, and reports, to ensure consistent messaging and brand voice.
  • Developing and maintaining templates for frequently used communication formats.
  • Responding to inquiries from donors, volunteers, beneficiaries, and the public in a timely and courteous manner, providing accurate and informative responses.
  • Tracking and managing correspondence workflow, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Researching and gathering information to support the development of comprehensive and informative responses.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a communication or administrative role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor language to different audiences.
  • Ability to read between the lines of inquiries and requests to identify underlying needs and concerns.
  • Ability to craft personalized correspondence that resonates with individual recipients, demonstrating a keen understanding of their unique perspectives and preferences.
  • Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite, with experience in email marketing platforms a plus.
  • Passion for the mission of the African American Diabetes Association, Inc. and a commitment to serving the community.
