Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Tri-Cities Community Health in Richland Primary Care. As a LPN, you will work under the direct supervision of an authorized healthcare practitioner, administering medications and performing treatments or procedures without the presence of a registered nurse or other authorized healthcare practitioner on the premises.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examinations, starting data collection and entering patient information into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
  • Assist physicians or healthcare providers with examinations, treatments, and procedures
  • Communicate between patients and external providers regarding test results, medical records, and/or patient care
  • Upkeep departmental supplies and inventory
  • Administer medications, injections, and blood draws as directed by physician or provider
  • Perform and assist with aseptic and sterile procedures
  • Perform diagnostic testing within scope of practice
  • Appropriately handle and transport biohazardous materials such as surgical instruments for sterilization
  • Maintain medication logs through inventorying sample medications, expiry dates, and patient distribution
  • Participate in the performance and completion of quality assessment techniques
  • Adhere to required safety practices and OSHA guidelines in the workplace
  • Take immediate and corrective action if indicated and report problems to appropriate personnel for potential or actual safety hazards
  • Maintain up-to-date certification and medical knowledge, including safety and specific job-related hazards
  • Carry out all other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of work experience, preferred
  • Current Washington State Licensed Practical Nurse certification, required
  • Current and maintained AHA BLS certification, required
  • Proficient in English and another language (Spanish, Russian, Mandarin, or other) preferred
