Job Summary

As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and administrative support to our healthcare team. This is a full-time day shift position that requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical, technical, and administrative duties as directed by the physician and within the scope of training and certification, including point of care testing.
  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment, obtain and record patients' chief complaints, current medications, vital signs, pain screening, and allergies.
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms, prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, cleaning/sterilizing instruments as needed.
  • Assist physician with examinations, tests, procedures, and office-based surgery, apply splints, casts, dressings, and remove sutures with competency.
  • Prepare and administer medications and immunizations as ordered by the physician, including p.o., vaginal, and rectal suppositories, intradermal injection, and intramuscular injection.
  • Receive and return clinically-related telephone calls, communicate with physician or registered nurse regarding medical concerns of the patient.
  • Teach patient and provide printed information about diagnosis, self-care, health promotion, disease prevention, and community healthcare resources.
  • Document data and care in the patient medical record, maintain as confidential.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited medical assistant program is preferred.
  • No experience required.
  • Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses: Job Related Certification from one of the following: CMA (AAMA); RMA (AMT); CCMA(NHA); NCMA (NCCT); RMA (ARMA); NRCMA (NAHP); or RMA (AAMP).
Work Environment

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. The work environment is fast-paced and requires excellent communication and teamwork skills.
